A Little Girl Named Anne Inspires Our Latest Heart To Heart Hospital Donation
Meet Anne, she and her mother Meg Casey are the reason hundreds of other babies in the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Cardiac NICU and Cardiac Pediatric ICU now wear Magnetic Me.
In early 2022, Meg's daughter Anne spent 85 days in the Cardiac ICU. During Anne's stay, Meg discovered the convenience of our magnetic fasteners and started dressing her exclusively in Magnetic Me. The magnets allowed the nurses and doctors to easily change Anne when they gave assessments, tests, and diaper changes. Nurses even raved about how much easier the easy on-and-off outfits made their job when changing such fragile patients.
As Anne was scheduled to go home, Meg couldn't stop thinking about her family's stay in the hospital and any other parent who has ever endured a harrowing experience like hers. She wanted to support other families and decided to do something about it.
Originally, Meg wanted to purchase and donate 85 outfits to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center—one for every day Anne has been in the Cardiac ICU. But when she called us, we knew we could do more.
In honor of baby Anne and all the NICU & CICU patients, we donated five times the amount.
HOW IT ALL STARTED
Much like our relationship with Meg, our hospital donations started with a call from a mother. In Anne, Heather Nichols contacted Magnetic Me to donate outfits to other families in the Cardiac ICU at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in memory of her son, Adler. We were so touched by her story that we gave DeVos a year’s supply, and from that, our Heart To Heart donation program was born.
GIVE BACKS THIS YEAR
Our donation to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center marks the third of this year—others include NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michegan.
